Louisiana Homes & Gardens Design Awards 2008: Water Feature and Pool Design

Written by: Jill Martinez

Water Feature

Michael Henry Design Consultants

The dominant feature of this grotto pool area is a stunning cascading fountain designed to ornament as well as maintain the intimate, private feel of the larger outdoor living space. A multi colored mosaic background provides a contrast to the polished stone accents and adds a hint of sparkle to the design.

Pool Design

Twin Shores

From its initial conception this pool was the framework for a complete integration of interior and exterior areas of the residence. A feeling of comfort and coherence between these spaces was achieved by infusing the modern interior of the home with the new pool environment. A study of textural contrasts is achieved through strategic placement of key elements such as alternating stone pavers, Mexican beach pebbles, and variety of exotic plantings. ✦
