The mezzanine, or front entrance, is designed with Mediterranean and Italianate influences. The rounded arch entryway is echoed by the slightly smaller in scale, yet equally elegant etched glass doors. The grand entrance is balanced in style by a pair of flanking classical Corinthian columns. Marble is used extensively throughout the design and contrasts beautifully with the central water feature and decorative lions, both of which are cast bronze. The interior hallway is a natural progression from the main entrance and features a barrel segmented gold leaf ceiling and bronze and crystal wall sconces. A pierced carved console with a black marble top and oversized convex mirror are placed along one wall, and a dazzling crystal chandelier at the far end of the space serves as a centerpiece to the main entrance. Special features of the house include a custom designed garage complete with marble inlay floors and central air and heat to house the owners’ his and her Bentleys. ✦
