Triton Stone: Rock Solid

Written by: Jill Martinez

Katie Peralta, part owner and manager of Triton Stone, has a mantra on which she bases her savvy approach to the business of stone distribution. “A rock is rock,” admits Peralta.

“If you are going to buy a rock, why should you buy it from me?” Yet, her honest assessment of the inevitable nature of stone doesn’t deter her from identifying additional avenues to attract, secure, and maintain business. Having developed Triton Stone with her family for the last three years, they have found a few rock-solid means (no pun intended) to emerge as one of the leading stone distributors across south Louisiana and, most recently, into Texas.

“What sets Triton Stone apart is our multifaceted approach and genuine commitment to customer service on a variety of levels,” Peralta says. “Our customers have the opportunity to walk through our indoor warehouse—come rain or shine. We encourage them to hand select their slabs, so they know exactly what will be installed.”

This is the reason why Triton Stone physically stocks over 240 varieties of granite, marble, travertine, onyx, limestone, and sandstone, to name a few, in their 26,000-square-foot warehouse in New Orleans. In addition, they just opened a warehouse in Baton Rouge that boasts over 18,000 square feet and features the finest and most unique stones around.

As a wholesaler, many times Triton’s sales representatives work directly with a contractor or a fabricator to pick out the right product for the job at hand. Yet Triton Stone realizes that stone is only one part of a finished kitchen or shower area. They also stock the products and appliances that are essential to complete most home renovation or new construction projects such as toilets and sinks. When a client comes to pick up his or her slab, they can also browse a large selection of eco-conscious Toto toilets, which are on the forefront of the green movement offering 1.28-gallon flush or dual-flush systems. They also offer affordable Danze faucets that boast a lifetime warranty to guard against scratches and leaks, and C-TECH and Oliveri sinks, which offer an array of shapes, sizes, and accessories to fit kitchens or baths. The term “one stop shopping” has a proven value for today’s consumer, living and working within the hectic pace of the 21st century. But why should that only apply to big box stores? Triton Stone, flanked by their quality materials and competitive prices, have been able to do their part to keep customers satisfied and will continue to build projects on track, one slab at a time.
