Immediately upon walking into All Wood Furniture’s showroom you will notice the unmistakable aroma of wood, cypress wood to be exact. All Wood Furniture builds handcrafted, custom-built furniture made of solid cypress. “I love cypress because it’s locally grown and has a personality all its own. Every piece has character, the grain is different and the markings and knots make each piece special. In business for 15 years, I started to utilize cypress exclusively a few years back as opposed to importing or building furniture using veneers and cheaper woods,” explains owner David Duhon. “If you are from Southern Louisiana, it is likely that your grandfather might have used Cypress to build,”

Cypress was readily used in construction in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s because of its durability. It was used in building construction, especially for beams and posts in docks, warehouses, factories, bridges and various classes of heavy construction. It is also well suited for home construction, porches, outdoor furniture and siding because of its moderate resistance to decay.

After years of building tables, All Wood Furniture has a selection of 12 distinctive styles of handcrafted Louisiana Cypress Tables. Combinations of different tops –plank top to smooth top, leg design, (Shaker, French, Tapered, Knotched and more) skirts – scrolled style to straight style, and various finishes, offers and endless selection to make each table unique and tailored for different tastes and preferences.

In the show room you will find a tremendous variety of styles and designs. The room is filled with armoires, tables, hutches, wall units, bedroom furniture, storage pieces and shelving. All Wood Furniture offers each handcrafted piece in a beautiful lacquered finish in several colors or matched to customer samples. They even make crown molding and bead board. All Wood Furniture has a large selection of outdoor furniture in several styles. Each style features swings, gliders, benches, chairs, loveseats, and rockers. Also available are end tables and coffee tables. The traditional Garden style furniture features horizontal slats with minimal accents while the Adirondack style features vertical tapered slats. The flagship Designer style incorporates larger cypress planks as backs, elegant curves and heavier construction on the gliders, chairs, and benches. Since each line is built in cypress, it will hold up to the elements and take on a patina look unfinished, or it can be sealed or finished in a color for a more personalized look.
