Tom and Jennifer Dicerbo first treated customers to all things fine and French when she opened the doors to The French Mix in early September. This boutique in the heart of Old Covington offers more than your average gift shop: to visit The French Mix is to experience the eclectic ambience of a Parisian market in all its understated glory. With a keen sensibility for handmade, one-of-a-kind products, the Dicerbos seek out items with unique charm and appeal that are not likely to be found elsewhere in southern Louisiana. From a full children’s section to a range of handmade clothing, everything is exceptional. “Anything I decide to bring into the store has to be special and unique, so you find that perfect piece of furniture for your home or a beautiful gift for someone special,” says Jennifer.

The blend of vintage and antique offerings amongst the handmade modern-day finds at The French Mix is a testament to the philosophie français that beautiful household furnishings are made to be used, not just admired. Shoppers can create custom slipcovered sofas or indulge in jewelry with a New Orleans flair designed by Michelle Schurr of YaYa Designs.

Visitors will find exceptional antique furniture next to beautiful handmade sachets crafted from French fabrics and filled with fragrant lavender buds from Provence; one-of-a-kind architectural pieces handmade by Tom Dicerbo are displayed alongside hand-forged Savon de Marseille Soaps with crushed regional flowers and pure fragrances of lavender, orange flower and rose petal.
